Xiegu G90 20W HF SDR Transceiver with Built-In ATU

20 Watts. Built-In ATU. SDR Performance. Ready for the Shack or the Field.

The Xiegu G90 is a compact, full-featured 20-watt HF amateur radio transceiver built around a modern Software Defined Radio (SDR) architecture. With an excellent RF front end, built-in wide-range automatic antenna tuner, detachable control head, spectrum/waterfall display, and adjustable DSP filtering, the G90 packs an impressive amount of capability into a portable radio.

Whether you're building a home station or heading out for POTA, portable, mobile, camping, or emergency communications, the G90 offers significantly more capability than a typical QRP rig while remaining small enough to take into the field.

Key Features

  • Up to 20 Watts RF Output

  • 0.5–30 MHz General Coverage Receive

  • 160–10 Meter Amateur Band Transmit Coverage

  • Modern Zero-IF Direct Conversion SDR Architecture

  • USB / LSB / CW / CWR / AM / FM Modes

  • High-Performance RF Front End for excellent selectivity

  • Built-In Wide-Range Automatic Antenna Tuner

  • Built-In Antenna SWR Scanner

  • Built-In CW Decoder

  • 10 Hz Minimum Tuning Step

  • Factory-Installed Anderson Powerpole DC Connectors

A Great Step Up from QRP

At up to 20 watts, the G90 fills an excellent niche between traditional 5–10 watt QRP radios and larger 100-watt HF transceivers.

That extra RF power can make a noticeable difference under marginal band conditions while still allowing you to build a compact, battery-powered portable station.

The G90 is particularly well suited for operators who want one affordable HF radio that can work equally well on the operating desk or packed up for a weekend POTA activation.

Wide-Range Automatic Antenna Tuner

One of the G90's standout features is its built-in wide-range automatic antenna tuner (ATU).

The integrated tuner provides convenient antenna matching without requiring a separate external tuner for many antenna systems — a major advantage when putting together a compact portable station.

The radio also includes a built-in SWR scanner, allowing operators to quickly evaluate antenna performance across a selected portion of a band.

Spectrum & Waterfall Display

The detachable control head features a 1.8-inch high-brightness color TFT display with a real-time ±24 kHz spectrum scope and waterfall.

This provides a quick visual representation of band activity and makes locating active signals considerably easier than operating from a conventional frequency-only display.

Adjustable DSP Filtering

The G90 includes adjustable digital signal processing filters that allow operators to tailor receiver bandwidth for operating conditions.

For CW operation, the filter can be narrowed to approximately 50 Hz, providing excellent flexibility when working crowded bands or weak signals.

Detachable Control Head

The G90's front display and control panel can be separated from the main radio body using a remote cable.

This makes the G90 especially useful for mobile installations, compact operating desks, portable stations, and custom go-box installations where the radio body and controls cannot conveniently occupy the same location.

Digital Modes & CAT Control

For operators interested in FT8, JS8Call, other sound-card digital modes, or PC CAT control, the optional Xiegu DE-19 Data Interface Expansion Adapter is required.

The DE-19 combines a USB sound card and isolation transformer into a single interface, providing a convenient connection between the G90 and your computer.

Xiegu DE-19 Data Interface is sold separately.

Power & Operating Notes

For full 20-watt output, use a properly regulated DC supply in the 13.8–15V range with adequate current capacity. Although the G90 can operate over a wider 10.5–16.5V DC input range, maximum RF output may be reduced at lower supply voltages.

Like many compact HF transceivers, the G90 can become quite warm during extended operation, particularly during high-duty-cycle transmissions such as digital modes. Adequate airflow around the radio is recommended. An optional cooling stand or fan system can be useful for extended high-duty-cycle operation.

A slight internal tone or noise may occasionally be noticed as the radio becomes warm during extended use. According to the manufacturer, this heat-related internal signal noise is normal and does not affect radio performance.

Pair your G90 with a quality power source, portable antenna system, and the optional DE-19 interface to build a highly capable compact HF station for the shack, campsite, or your next activation.
